Welcome to the Body By Robes blog! We’ve got a great group gathered here with really three main objectives: Get Fit. Have Fun. Together.

That’s it. It’s that simple. I’m not a doctor, I’m not a nutritionist. I’m passionate about fitness. I’m passionate about pushing my body to new levels. I’m passionate about finding new ways to challenge myself… and others. In my spare time, I’m a trainer at a local gym in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Over the years, we’ve created a happy little following of “believers” that we lovingly call the “crew” (depending on what day you ask them and what the workout was, they may call themselves “victims”!) and some asked that I find a way to post the workouts I do when I’m out of town traveling, or when they miss a class so that they can keep up with our efforts to get fit and have fun.

So there you have it. We do this together. We’re a team. Honestly. God gave me a burning passion for fitness, so about half my life ago, I got certified to teach. I spent several years as a personal trainer and fitness instructor in various gyms, then found my own workouts were slacking and gave it up to focus on my own health and fitness. I kept up my certifications so I’d be up to date on all the newest stuff… didn’t want to miss anything!

I spend a lot of time talking with other trainers. I travel a bunch with my fabulous husband, and when we’re on the road, I get to meet lots of trainers all over the world. We all share thoughts and concepts and ideas and my crew will tell you that they know when I’ve been somewhere… I always come back with something new. A new way to challenge our bodies. A new way to make Jess cry out in pain/frustration/exhaustion/anger (trust me, on any given day it could be ANY or ALL of those)! A new way for super quiet Austin hurl gentle insults. A new way to make Steph imagine in her head she’s going to murder me. A new way to hear my mom giggle at the madness of it all. A new way to keep my sister in Denver motivated and encouraged. A new way to have Marlene find bruises (darn those Pushup Commando Rolls!). A new way to be pushed so hard that someone demand the vomit bucket be brought into the room. And… for Wanda.. a new way to do a burpee (bad news, I found a new way this morning!!!). And it’s all good. It’s all for fun, and we do it together. Our motto: let no man/woman suffer alone. 🙂

    Love the motivation and encouragement! Helps me stay on track especially on days I simply don’t want to do a workout but I always remember the motto “no excuses!” The variety of exercises helps me immensly as I’m one of those people who gets bored after 3 minutes of the same exercise.
