Can’t Make Spin? How about 8 minutes? No problem…

Hey all,

Realized pretty late last night that I wasn’t going to make it to my normal Thursday Spin class in Ponte Vedra, so I did this workout in my living room. I was running short on time, and in the middle of about 20 things, but I KNEW I could make 8 minutes free. So here we go:

Tabata-Style (reminder: Tabata-Style is 20 seconds ON… working as fast and as hard as you can, followed by 10 seconds of rest).
4 exercises.
4 rounds in a cycle.
Total: 8 minutes.
Plenty of sweat.
Great workout.

EXERCISES:

Toe-Touch Jacks: Yep, just like it sounds. Jumping Jacks, but at the bottom, you’re touching your toes.

Tricep Pushups: Get in pushup position, but put your hands in close to your chest, and when you do a pushup, your elbows go up to the ceiling and your arms rub against your side. Modification: You may do these on your knees if you MUST!

Toe-Touch Leg Lifts: Lay flat on your back, hands over your head. Simultaneously lift your left foot up toward the sky while you lift your upper body, with arms staying straight over your head, toward your left leg. Touch your left toes with your hands, then lower. Next lift your right foot up toward the sky, touching your right toes with your hands. You’ll alternate, QUICKLY. Make sure both the lower and upper body move for this ab exercise to be effective!

Frog Plank Jumps: Get in a full plank on your hands and feet (no elbows — it won’t work). Keeping both hands on the floor, jump both feet up to outside your hands, then return to the plank position. Again, this is FAST. Move your body! You’ll work your shoulders, your triceps, your abs, your legs, your butt. This is a full body move. Go get ’em!

That’s it! Those are your exercises. Complete in sequence (starting with the Toe-Touch Jacks and finishing with the Frog Plank Jumps) for ONE round. One round will take you 2 minutes total (20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest for each exercise). You’ll do 4 total rounds.

**Get a piece of paper and stick it by you. Keep track of how many reps you do of each exercise in each round. I’ll post mine in comments!**

    Can’t wait to do another one tomorrow. These are PERFECT for me. Short and hardcore. Fits into my schedule just perfectly.
